Digital Marketing Strategist (La Vergne, TN)
Level: Individual contributor | Type: Direct Hire, Full Time | Location: La Vergne, Tennessee (on-site) | Range: $65,000-$75,000
The role
Our client supplies and services CNC, robotics and industrial automation parts for manufacturers, and sells through a family of ecommerce and brand web properties. Customers find them through those sites, and most of that traffic starts with a search.
You will own organic growth across the whole portfolio: SEO, content strategy, generative engine optimization (GEO) for AI-driven search, email marketing and social media, plus the practical use of AI inside the marketing function. The mandate is to grow qualified traffic, leads and conversions. You set the strategy, direct the outside SEO partner and content writers, and personally execute the initiatives that matter most.
You report to the Director of Marketing. The role has no direct reports.
What you will own
- Organic search strategy and execution for the ecommerce sites, with a standing brief to find and act on opportunities that lift qualified traffic, leads and conversions.
- The relationship with the external SEO agency, keeping its priorities tied to business goals.
- Keyword research, competitive analysis, content gap analysis and ongoing on-page and technical optimization.
- A GEO strategy that improves visibility inside AI-powered search and answer engines, informed by how traditional search, AI search and customer discovery are changing.
- Content direction: calendars built from customer needs, search opportunity and business priorities, with briefs for in-house writers and outside resources.
- Writing and editing blog articles, web copy, email campaigns and marketing materials, and reworking existing content for visibility, readability and conversion.
- Email campaigns and organic social posting across company channels, and content support for product launches, campaigns, events and company initiatives, including basic graphics.
- Repeatable AI-assisted marketing workflows: evaluating tools, finding practical uses and holding brand and quality standards while doing it.
- Reporting on organic traffic, rankings, leads, conversions, content performance and email engagement, turned into recommendations and regular progress updates.
What we require
- 5+ years in SEO, organic growth, content marketing or digital marketing.
- A strong grasp of technical, on-page and content-based SEO.
- A track record of building and executing organic growth strategies.
- Working experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console and an SEO platform such as Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz.
- Strong writing, editing, content strategy and project management skills, with the independence to run several priorities at once.
- Strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution, and clear communication with people at every level of the business.
- Basic graphic design ability in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or a similar tool.
- Fluency with marketing analytics tools and data-driven optimization.
What will set you apart
- A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
- Marketing experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, robotics, technical B2B or ecommerce settings.
- Time spent on product-heavy or ecommerce websites.
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms, AI-powered search, GEO and the shifts in search behaviour.
Work environment
- Primarily office-based inside an industrial and warehouse setting.
- Regular contact with company leadership, customer service representatives and production supervisors on the shop floor.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Minimal travel, as needed.
Location
La Vergne, Tennessee, on-site at the client's facility.
Compensation
$65,000 to $75,000 base salary, full time, direct hire.
Why candidates will be interested
- You own both the strategy and the execution, and you direct the outside agency and the writers who support it.
- The portfolio spans several revenue-producing ecommerce sites, so search wins show up directly in leads and sales.
- The role carries an explicit mandate to build AI-assisted workflows and GEO capability into the marketing function.
