Preconstruction Lead - Data Center Program (Remote)

The role

Program-level ownership of preconstruction across the client's portfolio: estimating, scheduling and benchmarking. This role establishes what a project of this scale should cost and how long it should take, and provides the independent view that protects the business when commercial pressure pushes toward commitments the delivery organization cannot meet.

What you will own

• Conceptual through detailed estimating across campuses at varying stages of maturity.
• Master program scheduling and schedule validation, including independent challenge of contractor-proposed durations.
• Cost and schedule benchmarking across the portfolio and against market comparables.
• Preconstruction input to lease negotiations, letters of intent and customer commitments - including realistic assessment of what is deliverable.
• Handover of estimate and schedule basis to delivery teams at project start, with clear articulation of assumptions and risks.

What we require

• Data center preconstruction experience at program level.
• Genuine depth in both estimating and scheduling - this role covers both.
• The independence and credibility to give leadership an unwelcome answer and hold it.
• Experience supporting commercial negotiation with delivery-side reality.

• Canadian and US cost base familiarity, including labor, equipment and logistics differentials.
• Experience with self-generation and behind-the-meter power infrastructure.
• Owner-side experience following earlier contractor-side estimating.
