Level: Director / Vice President | Team: Program | Type: Full-time employee | Location: Remote - North America, with significant site travel | Target start: Q4 2026 | Range: CAD $250,000 - $375,000 base

The role

Ownership of health and safety across the client's construction portfolio - setting the standard, assuring contractor performance against it, and holding the line when schedule pressure builds. On a program running at this pace, in this climate, with penalties attached to milestones, this role exists to make sure speed is never bought with safety.

What you will own

  • Development and implementation of the owner-side safety management system across campuses.
  • Contractor safety pre-qualification, plan review and ongoing performance assurance.
  • Site audit and inspection program, with direct escalation authority.
  • Incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions - in Alberta, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulation.
  • Winter working safety standards and cold-weather risk management.

What we require

  • Senior safety leadership on major construction programs, ideally including data centers.
  • Multi-jurisdiction regulatory experience across Canada and the United States.
  • Demonstrated willingness to stop work and hold a position under commercial pressure.
  • Owner-side experience assuring contractor safety performance, as distinct from delivering it directly.

What will set you apart

  • Alberta regulatory experience.
  • Cold-weather and winter construction safety background.
  • CRSP, CSP or equivalent certification.
