The role
Ownership of health and safety across the client's construction portfolio - setting the standard, assuring contractor performance against it, and holding the line when schedule pressure builds. - Contractor safety pre-qualification, plan review and ongoing performance assurance.
- Site audit and inspection program, with direct escalation authority.
- Incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions - in Alberta, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulation.
- Winter working safety standards and cold-weather risk management.
What we require
- Senior safety leadership on major construction programs, ideally including data centers.
- Multi-jurisdiction regulatory experience across Canada and the United States.
- Demonstrated willingness to stop work and hold a position under commercial pressure.
- Owner-side experience assuring contractor safety performance, as distinct from delivering it directly.
What will set you apart
- Alberta regulatory experience.
- Cold-weather and winter construction safety background.
- CRSP, CSP or equivalent certification.
