Senior Project Manager / Project Manager - Data Center Construction (Edmonton)

Level: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager (3-6 positions) | Team: Project | Type: Full-time employee or third-party contract | Location: Edmonton area, Alberta - on site, five days per week | Target start: Q3 2026 - immediate | Range: CAD $125,000 - $250,000 base depending on level

The role

The client is building out the project management bench for its Edmonton-region campus and expects to bring on between three and six project managers and senior project managers. These are site-based delivery roles reporting into the campus project director.

Scope allocation will depend on level and on the shape of the team as it forms - candidates may own a data hall, a discipline, or a defined package of the wider works. The team is being assembled quickly and roles will be shaped around the people who join.

What you will own

• Day-to-day management of assigned scope - schedule, cost, quality and safety - in coordination with the general contractor.
• Review and challenge of contractor schedules, look-aheads and change requests.
• Tracking and reporting of progress against the milestone structure for the relevant data hall or package.
• Coordination of owner-furnished equipment deliveries against installation sequencing.
• Support to commissioning and turnover activity as each hall approaches ready-for-service.
• Field presence - walking the work, not managing it from a screen.

What we require

• A strong record of project delivery on complex construction, with genuine ownership of schedule and cost rather than administrative support to someone else's ownership.
• Fluency in the mechanics of the trade: budgets, schedules, contracts, purchase orders, payment applications, change management.
• Willingness to be on site five days a week in the Edmonton area. This is a job-trailer role.
• Realistic expectations about the environment - fast-moving, imperfectly resourced, with process still being built.

What will set you apart

• Data center experience. This is strongly preferred and will materially shorten your ramp. It is, however, the one level in this program where a genuinely strong project manager without data center background will be considered - provided you are prepared to be humble for the first ninety days.
• Experience on both contractor and owner or consultancy sides.
• Canadian delivery experience, particularly winter construction.
• Mission-critical, industrial or other high-consequence delivery background.
