Location: California | On site five days a week
Industry: Hyperscale Data Centers | AI and Digital Infrastructure
Employment: Full-Time or Contract | Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, multiple positions
Compensation: USD $150,000 - $250,000 base, depending on level

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an early-stage data center developer building hyperscale campuses across North America. It is building the project management team for its California campus and is hiring several project managers and senior project managers.

These are site-based delivery roles reporting to the campus project director. Depending on your level and on how the team forms, you may own a data hall, a discipline or a defined package of the wider works.

The team is being assembled now, and the roles will be shaped around the people who join. Process is still being built, so the people who arrive early help decide how the site runs.

What You'll Own

Delivery

  • Run your scope day to day with the general contractor: schedule, cost, quality and safety.
  • Own the schedule and the cost for your hall or package personally.
  • Work through budgets, contracts, purchase orders, payment applications and change management as part of the job.

Contractor and schedule control

  • Review and challenge contractor schedules, look-aheads and change requests.
  • Track and report progress against the milestone structure for your data hall or package.
  • Work site issues through with the contractor as they come up.

Equipment and interfaces

  • Coordinate deliveries of owner-furnished equipment against the installation sequence.
  • Keep your scope aligned with the neighboring packages, such as civil, mechanical and electrical.

Commissioning and turnover

  • Support commissioning and turnover as each hall approaches ready-for-service.

On site

  • Walk the work every day and manage your scope from the field.

What You Bring

  • A strong record of project delivery on complex construction, with real ownership of schedule and cost.
  • Fluency in budgets, schedules, contracts, purchase orders, payment applications and change management.
  • On site five days a week in California. This is a job-trailer role.

Who Gets Our Attention

Data center experience is strongly preferred and will shorten your ramp. This is also the one level in the program where a strong project manager from other complex construction will be considered.

We look closely at hands-on delivery on data center, mission-critical or large industrial projects: managing contractors, driving schedule, resolving site issues, and overseeing civil, electrical, mechanical or commissioning work.

Experience on both sides of the industry stands out, with contractor-side years followed by owner or consultancy work.

We read career history before credentials. Step-ups that make sense, and a clear answer to what you personally delivered, carry the most weight.

The Person

You are a builder who wants to be on site. You hold a general contractor to its commitments, and you know the trade mechanics well enough that nobody has to explain a payment application to you.

You go in with realistic expectations. The environment moves quickly, it is not fully resourced yet, and process is being written alongside the work. If you come from outside data centers, you are ready to be humble for the first ninety days and learn the discipline quickly.

Why This One?

You join a hyperscale campus team early, while it is still being formed. Scope is matched to the person, so a strong project manager can take on a full data hall or a major package.

You work on the owner side, reporting to the campus project director, for a developer with a pipeline of campuses across North America.

Location

California, on site five days a week. Relocation support is available.

Compensation

USD $150,000 to $250,000 base salary, depending on level. Full-time employment and contract arrangements are both considered.
